Common terms
Controlled vocabulary
A curated set of approved terms and definitions used consistently across datasets.
Ontology
A formal representation of domain concepts, relationships, and identifiers that supports machine-readable interoperability.
Data package
A structured bundle of data files plus metadata files describing schema, meaning, and provenance.
Column dictionary
A metadata table documenting each variable (column) in a dataset, including data type, role, and semantic mapping.
Concept scheme
A SKOS collection organizing related concepts, often used for controlled codes.
